Karbonn Champions League T20 2013 Schedule, Fixtures, Time Table, All Teams and Squad
The final squads for the Karbonn Smart Champions League Twenty20 2013, to be played in India from 17 September to 6 October, have been announced.
A dozen of the world’s best Twenty20 cricketers were in high demand after being named by more than one squad.
Karbonn Champions League (CL) 2013 is all set for its 5th edition. This time this competition will be played in India and 3rd time overall in all time. 2 times, it has been played in South Africa.
The World’s only domestic competition where all the winners of their respective nation league come and play against each other to prove themselves the best among all the goods.
Karbonn Champions League T20 2013
The Karbonn CL T20 2013 tournament will begin on September 17 and the Finals will be played on October 6 at Ferojshah Kotla, Delhi.
A total of 29 matches will be played among these winners to find a single champion.
All the teams will fight for a prize money of USD 6 million, said by CL T20 Governing Council officials.
The format of this year competition is same as that of previous 2 editions.
A total of 12 teams are participating in the Karbonn CL T20 2013 tournament. 8 have got the direct entry and will play the main competition while rest 2 will be selected from the qualifier matches which will be played between September 17 to September 20.
The main tournament will begin on September 21.
“The Karbonn CL T20 will return to India this year. It will be the third time India will host the tournament in five years, after 2009 and 2011. The competition, which will again feature leading cricketers from across the world and some of the established legends of world cricket, will be watched and followed by equally passionate fans,” N. Srinivasan, Chairman, CL T20 Governing Council, said.
Group A comprises the winner and third-ranked team in the Pepsi IPL 2013 which are Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, Highveld Lions (winner of South Africa’s RAM SLAM T20 Challenge), Perth Scorchers (KFC T20 Big Bash League runner-up), and the top team from the CL T20 2013 Qualifier.
Group B comprises Brisbane Heat (KFC T20 Big Bash League champion), Trinidad & Tobago (West Indies T20 champion), Chennai Super Kings (the runner-up in the Pepsi IPL 2013), Titans (RAM SLAM T20 Challenge runner-up), and the second-ranked team from the CL T20 2013 Qualifier.
The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the CL T20 semifinals.
The top team from Group A will play the second-ranked team from Group B, and vice verse, in the semi-finals. The winners of the semis will play in the CL T20 2013 Final on 6 October at Delhi.
